Flashback Friday 2010

Tis the season of costumes so I thought today I would pull something festive from the archives.  This was last year when Bird chose everybody’s costume.  She was a princess (naturally), she made Tulip Lu her baby pet dragon (every princess needs a dragon), and declared S her knight (he’s an accommodating kind of guy).  I didn’t get many pictures and not even one of S’s full costume.  I used patterns for each of their costumes with some modifications.  Lu’s needed wings and to be sized down bitty.  Birds’s needed tucks in the front, tons of ruffles, and better sleeves.  The gold dress still gets worn a whole lot.  Everything is machine washable.

I haven’t been sewing a lot.  The addition of the Tulip-Lu to our family was the line crossed.  Every day is crazy.  I tried hard to get a picture of Bird and Lu together but a certain baby made a certain bad choice near a certain fountain of water and my plans were foiled (once again).  Imagine them together.
